Lead Usher Ministry Responsibilities (1 or 2 needed per Mass):

Arive 30 minutes before Mass and stay 15 minutes after. 
  • Unlock the entrance doors if before the first Mass and turn on lights
  • Lock the entrance doors if after the last Mass and turn off lights
  • Use the baskets to do a collection during offertory
  • Recruit a family to take up the gifts
  • Direct the EMHC's to give communion to those unable to walk up to receive
  • Know where everything is at in the sacristy in case it is needed during Mass
  • Know where fire extinguishers are
  • Know where first aid kit is
  • Help reset the church for the next Mass
  • Keep an eye out for newcomers and help them find a seat (if necessary)
  • Keep an eye out for intruders and alert police if necessary
Assistant Usher Ministry Responsibilities (2-4 needed per Mass):
- Help with the collection during offertory
- Help dismiss pews for communion
- Direct the EMHC's to give communion to those unable to walk up to receive
- Be willing to assist the Lead Usher if need arises
