A seven-week experience that invites you to hear the Good News and personally encounter Jesus Christ.

Discovering Christ is a seven-week experience where anyone and everyone, from the baptized in the pews to the unbaptized, is invited to hear the Good News and personally encounter Jesus Christ. Discovering Christ helps people enter into or renew a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, experience the love of God the Father, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live as God’s children.

This experience is free to everyone, including members of other churches/parishes. 



A Typical Session

Discovering Christ consists of seven weekly sessions and a retreat day. The weekly sessions include four components: a meal, prayer time, a video teaching, and small group discussion.

1. Meal

The meal is a time to welcome guests with hospitality, foster relationships, and grow in friendship with one another. St. Thomas Parishioners will provide the meal and we will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions.

2. Prayer

The prayer time consists of inviting everyone to sing together, with the leaders offering spontaneous prayer. The prayer time is encouraged but not required; we want everyone to feel welcome.  

3. Teaching

We will be using the ChristLife video series for the teachings for these evenings. 

4. Small Group Discussion

The small groups are a place for people to freely share what they think and feel about the topic discussed in the teaching.

Sessions run from 6:00-8:30 p.m., except for the retreat, which runs from 8:30am-3 p.m.

  4. Why Do We Need a Savior? (July 2)
  5. Why Is the Resurrection Important? (July 9)
  6. Retreat (July 11- Saturday)
    • Who Is the Holy Spirit? (retreat) (Morning)
    • The Holy Spirit and You (retreat) (Afternoon)
  7. New Life in the Spirit (July 16)
  8. Our Need for the Church (July 23)




Attendance at all events is highly encouraged but not strictly required. The videos can be watched online at the ChristLife website.
